Jade dogs

Nephritis is a fairly common kidney disease in dogs, in which the parenchyma is inflamed, mainly affecting the glomerular vessels.

The nature of the disease is immunoallergic. According to the course of the disease, there are acute and chronic nephritis, and by localization - diffuse and focal. Most often, dogs develop chronic nephritis slowly.

The acute course of the disease can occur as a result of hypothermia, poisoning, injuries, as well as after the animal has suffered infectious diseases (parvovirus enteritis in dogs, plague, leptospirosis) and for many other reasons. Often, acute nephritis occurs in dogs with impaired urination and cardiac activity.

Symptoms of jade in dogs

  • At the beginning of the development of jade, the dog's appetite decreases, there is an increase in body temperature and depression.
  • because of the pain of the kidneys, the animal often takes an unnatural posture, arching its back. And if you press him on the kidney area or in the lumbar region - will show concern.
  • the dog appears swelling of the maxillary space, abdomen, eyelids, thighs, dyspepsia, vomiting.
  • mucous membranes fade or turn blue, often thirst.
  • may cause shortness of breath on the part of the respiratory organs, sometimes a slight cough or congestive moist rales.
  • due to the presence of an overflow of blood in the small circle system and fever, they detect bronchopneumonia and bronchitis.
  • at the very first signs of the disease, frequent urge to urinate initially.
  • the dog quickly develops anuria or oliguria.
  • urine becomes turbid, usually of high density, from light red to brown.

The analysis shows that urine contains many white blood cells, erythrocytes, cylinders, tubular epithelium and salts. The pH of the urine also changes. In acute nephritis, short-term urinary excretion of large amounts of protein is characteristic.

At the same time, the blood is diluted because it contains a lot of water, the density of the blood serum is reduced. The diagnosis of the animal is made on the basis of laboratory analysis of urine and clinical examination data.

Treatment of jade in dogs

Depending on the degree of kidney damage, acute nephritis can last from one to two weeks and end either with recovery or (with signs of uremia) with the death of the animal. If the disease is delayed and becomes chronic, then it can last not only for months, but also for years.

In an animal with symptoms of nephritis, an infectious disease should be suspected and therefore it should be isolated and the therapy should be carried out in a complex. It is also urgent to eliminate the causes of the disease (for example, catarrhal factors).

During the first days of the exacerbation of the disease, a starvation diet is recommended, and then a limited amount of easily digested food, poor in protein, is prescribed.

It can be cereals from various cereals and vegetables, low-fat milk products, vegetable soups and meat broth, infusions and decoctions of medicinal herbs.

  • For acute nephritis, a course of antibiotic treatment is needed. (furadonin with erythromycin or streptomycin).
  • In parallel with them, sedatives, diuretics (eufillin), cardiac drugs (caffeine, cardiomine) are used.
  • It is necessary to inject intravenously 0.5% solution of novocaine with ascorbic acid and 10% solution of calcium chloride.

In order to prevent the disease, it is necessary to eliminate in time the causes that caused the aggravation of nephritis. Do not allow toxic substances (with drugs or food) to enter the body of an animal, avoid hypothermia.
