The long process of adaptation has taught the dog to eat foods not only of animal origin.
But we must not forget that dogs are primarily meat eaters and that the basis of their nutrition should consist of noble proteins.
Therefore, the diet of our four-legged friends should contain a complete set of essential nutrients, including proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and mineral salts.
A well-fed and healthy dog should not be too fat, not too thin. And most importantly - it should have a healthy, good coat. Healthy and proper nutrition is a factor in the proportional development of dogs. A puppy taken from the breast must eat four times a day, up to the age of 4 months.
His diet should consist mainly of grated meat or fish, well-cooked rice, cereal flakes, milk and unrefined olive oil. Also, the chow-chow puppy's diet should be enriched with vitamin supplements, which can include yogurt, eggs, cod liver oil, yeast, and fresh liver. To prevent rickets, calcium and phosphorus should be added to food as a powder or tablets.
Adult Chow Chow Feeding
For an adult dog, one meal per day is enough. It is desirable in the evening. Ready-made dog food is available for sale, the composition of which is selected to meet all nutritional needs and is approved by the relevant authorities. Such mixtures allow you to adjust the diet to the real needs of the animal and provide the right balance between the main nutrients.
Do not forget to regularly change the dog water. Do not leave food that she did not eat. Do not give her long chicken bones, fish bones, sugared foods, and salted or peppered scraps from the table.
